Developed initially for North Sea operations, DYNA is the latest technology to ensure an effective wireline stage for horizontal completions. The unique perforating switch processors provide a significant step change in the ability to get the horizontal stage shot the first time – every time. The system is qualified Radio Frequency (RF) Safe, which is essential for simultaneous pumpdown and fracturing operations.
The DYNA Difference
The difference from traditional technology can be found in each of the DYNA perforation switches.
Conventional pumpdown operations are dependent on percussion (+pos / -neg) switches for multiple gun strings. In the event of misfire, pinched wire, or failed switch, the gun string must be brought to surface for troubleshooting.
With the DYNA system, mechanical switches are made obsolete with small microprocessors that do not have the flaws of a percussion switch. In the event of a misfire, the DYNA switch can be skipped and perforating can continue downhole with the rest of the gun string.
The DYNA Package
Safety and RF-Safe for Multiwell Completions: The sytem is fully RF-Safe and allows for rigup and consecutive runs in the hole without the need to interrupt simultaneous operations, or the need to stop for radio silence. In addition, because the DYNA system requires a specific electronic code for firing, stray voltage, static electricity, and other unwanted energy sources cannot fire the detonator on surface.
Eliminate Wireline Misruns: Each switch, detonator, igniter and gun can be electronically checked at the surface. This ensures that the switch is functioning and that all wires and connections are proper before rigup. Upon rigup, the system also electronically checks each switch, detonator and igniter before running in the hole. In addtion, the gun string can be checked at anytime while running in the well. The DYNA systems has been proven to routinely provide over 100 continuous horizontal wireline runs per failed run in the well.
Skip Guns if a Misfire Occurs: In the event of a downhole fault, a particular gun can be skipped while the next gun in the string can continue perforating. This saves time and provides more safety than returning to the surface to troubleshoot a live explosive string.
Better Reliability: The system has a proven reliability much greater than other perforating switch systems. DYNA’s component failure is less than 1 per 2,000 units, which is 10 times better than traditional systems.
Shot Detection: The system electronically senses the firing of each detonator and igniter, giving a positive electronic indication of the gun firing and the plug setting.
Compatibility: The DYNA system is designed to be run with any conventional or high performance guns, charges and plugs.
